India has firmly rejected Pakistan's objections regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation in the Ram temple ceremony held in Ayodhya. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has characterized Islamabad's remarks as politically charged and unacceptable. They emphasized that Pakistan lacks a legitimate standing to comment on India's internal affairs and accused it of routinely interfering. Following a statement from Pakistan's foreign office that expressed concerns over a perceived threat to religious minorities in India and the safety of Muslim heritage sites, Indian authorities responded strongly. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, 'We have seen the reported remarks and reject them with the contempt they deserve.' He further criticized Pakistan for its poor human rights record, implying that the country should focus on its internal issues rather than making external criticisms. The ceremony on Tuesday was significant, as Prime Minister Modi hoisted the dharma dhwaja atop the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Temple, marking an important milestone in its construction. During the event, he declared that the flag represented a civilizational resurgence, claiming it symbolized the triumph of truth over falsehood. Modi emphasized that democracy is ingrained in India's cultural heritage and committed to inclusive development, extending a message of unity as the nation strives towards becoming a 'Viksit Bharat.' He remarked that the event was fulfilling a 500-year-old commitment and illustrated how wounds from the past were beginning to heal. Crowds gathered for a roadshow in Ayodhya, warmly welcoming the Prime Minister as he visited several temples, including Saptmandir and Mata Annapurna Mandir, performing rituals at each site.
