In a significant turn of events for the K-pop girl group NewJeans, all five members have decided to return to their management agency, ADOR, following a lengthy legal battle that lasted nearly a year. This decision comes after the Seoul Central District Court upheld the validity of NewJeans' exclusive contract with ADOR in a ruling delivered in late October. The group had previously announced their intentions to terminate the contract last November, citing a breakdown of trust and failure from the agency to meet its obligations.
The agency announced that members Haerin and Hyein expressed their desire to continue their partnership with ADOR after consulting with their families and engaging in discussions with the management. They articulated their decision to honor the court's verdict and the existing agreement with the agency. In response, ADOR has pledged to fully support the members in their upcoming endeavors within the entertainment landscape.
Following this development, the remaining members of NewJeans, Danielle, Minji, and Hanni, also confirmed their return to ADOR, although their announcement was slightly delayed as one member was in Antarctica at the time. They indicated that they would be individually conveying their intentions to the agency, which is in the process of confirming these plans.
Previously, ADOR had taken legal action in December against NewJeans claiming that the members' attempts to forge their own paths in the industry constituted a serious breach of contract. The agency highlighted that it had completed preparations for future activities, including the release of a full-length album. As the situation continues to evolve, fans remain eager for an official announcement about NewJeans' forthcoming projects under the renewed collaboration with ADOR.
