Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently spoke at the South India Natural Farming Summit in Coimbatore, where he addressed key issues related to agriculture, including the promotion of organic farming, crop diversification, and responsible fertilizer use. He encouraged farmers in Tamil Nadu to practice natural farming, advocating the principle of focusing on one acre per season. Modi emphasized that these methods are essential for resolving soil degradation issues. During his speech, he highlighted India's journey toward becoming a global leader in organic farming. In conjunction with his address, the Prime Minister announced the release of over Rs 18,000 crore as the 21st installment of the PM-KISAN scheme. This financial support aims to benefit approximately 9 crore farmers across the nation. Each eligible farmer will receive Rs 6,000 annually, distributed in three equal payments directly to their bank accounts. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to enhancing farmers' livelihoods and bolstering the agricultural sector in India. In a previous engagement, Modi participated in the centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, highlighting his focus on rural and agricultural development.
