A recent astrophotography achievement showcases impressive details of the Sh2-132 nebula, often referred to as the 'cosmic lion,' which is located approximately 10,000 light-years away from Earth. The breathtaking image was created by Ontario-based astrophotographer Ronald Brecher, who meticulously captured the scene despite the challenges posed by photographing during a bright moon phase.
To bring the hidden intricacies of this nebula to light, Brecher utilized a Sky-Watcher Esprit 70 EDX refractor telescope, dedicating over 35 hours to the exposure process. This extensive imaging time allowed faint cosmic light and previously invisible structures to emerge, unveiling the beauty of the nebula.
